Every July the village fills with runners, families and volunteers for the Faethon Skyrace. In 2026 it was held for the 15th time, as the Faethon SkyRace “Apostolos Tsourekas”: a 23 km loop with about 1,800 m of ascent, starting and finishing at the village square and reaching Chotzas peak (2,586 m), with a 14 km trail run and a children’s race on the same weekend.
The race usually takes place on the second weekend of July. The dates shown here, 9 to 11 July 2027, are subject to change until the organisers announce the 16th edition.
The village mountaineering club, EOS Kokkinopilou, supports the race with volunteers every year.
